In the event of a needle stick injury wash punctured site with running water for 15 minutes. Then seek medical attentions. Antiretroviral medication can be used to minimize possible infection if given soon after incident.
Biomedical waste spill
In the event of a spill block of area always wear gloves while cleaning. Absorb as much of the spill with paper towel. Dispose of anything used into biomedical waste receptacle. Apply tuberculocidal disinfectant following the manufacturer's instruction. Every brand works differently and will require different time before cleaning. Clean away remaining product and dispose of anything used while cleaning into biomedical waste.
Hand washing is required before putting gloves on, when taking gloves off, any time there is an interruption in the tattoo, and while disinfecting. Avoid bare handed contact with clients. Using a paper towel to turn off faucet after washing hands will help prevent any cross contamination.
